Final Fantasy 3
I first played this game in Febuary 1998, and I loved it straight away. The first thing I noticed was the excellent graphics (for a SNES anyway), the music was some of the best ever in a game, and the story was fantastic.
It is the story of Terra Branford, a young girl who was under the control of the evil Empire, but after a struggle with an esper, she awakened from the spell she ws under that made her obey every order granted by the evil Kefka. Espers are the source of magic, which "died" out 1000 years before. There was a war between Espers and humans, that nearly ended the world. However, one esper was discovered in the caves or Narshe, and Terra with 2 guards, Wedge and Biggs (sound familiar??), investigated. The Esper communicated with her.... It is discovered that Terra has the ability to cast magic. She meets other people against the Empire and they join her in her battle against the Empire, and Terra also has the chance to discover the fullest potential of her powers. But when Kefka discovers the sheer power of the Espers, it also turns into a battle for the survival of mankind....
Halfway through the game, Kefka literally destroys the world, and Celes, a former soldier of the Empire who joined Terra and the group, wakes up on an island a year after Kefka used the power of the Espers to change the world forever. She looks for her teammates throught the world, and it all ends with a final battle against Kefka himself....
The game is fantastic, if you haven't played it, there is no excuse, push the button that says "DOWNLOAD IT" to see why. Stephen Kinch
